CIA Language School in the Philippines
Training and travel reviews
For the past three months, I was able to gain valuable experience while studying language at the CIA Language Institute located in Cebu, Philippines. When I first started language training, I had many fears about the unfamiliar environment and language, but living at the CIA language school was a new challenge and a time of growth for me. Actually, during the first week, I had a lot of thoughts about going home. It felt like I was back in the military. But the more I went, the more I was able to adapt to life here.
First of all, the language classes were very systematic and focused. Various types of lectures were provided, including 1:1 classes, group classes, and speaking classes, so I was able to improve my English skills. In particular, in 1:1 classes, I was able to develop my confidence in English by being able to learn customized to my level. Actually, I think it is very important which teacher you study with. You have the opportunity to choose the teacher you want once a week, and if you take advantage of this, you can meet a good teacher.
Dormitory life was also very satisfactory. The cleanly maintained dormitory and balanced diet provided an environment where students could focus on learning. In addition, I had a great time meeting friends of various nationalities, studying and interacting together, and learning about each other's cultures. In particular, I met an Arab friend who was a very religious person who prayed every day at dawn. It was a truly amazing and fun experience. The air conditioning was also very cool.
The weekend trip was another highlight of our time in the Philippines. I was able to relax while traveling around Cebu's beautiful sea and islands, and also had the special experience of seeing whale sharks in Oslob. I also had the pleasure of visiting a local market, experiencing Philippine culture firsthand, and tasting various foods. In particular, I obtained a scuba diving certification.
Through this language training, I was able to develop not only my English skills, but also my understanding of various cultures and my independent living skills. My time at the CIA Language School in the Philippines will go beyond simple language study and will remain as an unforgettable and precious memory in my life. We will continue to move toward the wider world based on the experiences we have learned here.
Moreover, I would like to take on the challenge of going to the UK, where I will never forget my experience here.
