When I first came to CIA, I thought that the TOEIC course would be the most popular, but there were overwhelmingly more ESL courses. My own goal for studying abroad was to be able to listen to and speak English, and to use my English skills to make lots of friends. However, on the first day of the TOEIC course, there were two classes where we just took tests, which was not what I had hoped for. I had heard that the ESL students had fun because they focused on speaking, but I didn't care that much about my TOEIC score, so the classes were just about solving TOEIC problems, which was very boring, so I thought about changing courses on the first day and consulted with the Japanese manager and TOEIC teacher. The teachers were kind enough to give me advice, and as a result of me saying that I wanted to speak in English, they changed the content of the classes to focus on speaking. From then on, the classes were fun every day, and I even realized the appeal of the TOEIC course, where you can reflect on your progress after solving TOEIC problems. I will continue to talk to my friends and go out and have fun with everyone, and I will return to Japan as much as I can!
